Who we are? Read our Story
On the evening of 24 March 2020, a nationwide lockdown was announced in India as a preventive measure against the COVID-19 pandemic. The news was flooded with food and health deprivation for migrant workers, daily wage workers, homeless people and slum dwellers.
The base of our work started as a spontaneous effort in 2020 to engage with people suffering from hunger and health concerns during COVID pandemic in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. As we facilitated food and health services to slum dwellers living in Noida, it grew on us that we needed to sustain the effort to really make ‘health’ and ‘education’ a workable option for them and their children, and took on the decision to formulate an organization. Shivsangat trust was thus registered in July 2021.
